Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, UoA, Dera Ismail Khan holds Board of Studies Meeting

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Agriculture, Dera Ismail Khan (UAD), successfully organized the 2nd Meeting of the Board of Studies (BoS) for the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT). The session, chaired by Ali Haider, HOD MLT, was attended by faculty members from UAD, including Din Muhammad, Umer Nafees, Shafqat Ullah, Dr. Aftab Alam, and Dr. Saddam Hussain. External members included Dr. Usman Waheed (Islamabad Medical and Dental College), Dr. Noore Saba (Regional Blood Centre, Peshawar), Dr. Muhammad Saeed (Kohsar University Murree), and Faheem Ullah (Gomal University, DI Khan).

The board discussed and approved several key agenda items: (1) Renaming of the Department to Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT); (2) Renaming of the Faculty to Faculty of Allied Health Sciences; (3) Approval of Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Outcomes for the Department and the BS MLT program; (4) Endorsement of Scheme of Studies for the BS MLT (2023 onwards), aligned with HEC’s Undergraduate Education Policy 2023; (5) Finalization of Degree Title, Abbreviation, Eligibility Criteria, and Duration of the BS MLT program.

Following the meeting, the BoS members met Abdul Basit Khan, Registrar, UAD, who presented souvenirs to the outstation participants in appreciation of their contributions. The Registrar appreciated the contribution of BoS members to enhance the quality of education at UAD. He informed that UAD, established in March 2018 and recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, has been actively advancing academic excellence since commencing its operations in Fall 2019.
