
A high-level strategic meeting was held at the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Office in Karachi, bringing together key health officials and global partners to accelerate efforts toward polio eradication in Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Project Director EPI, Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Additional Director EPI, Dr. Sohail Raza Shaikh, and the Global Public Health team, including Dr. Zulfiqar Gorar from USAID, Ms. Judy Chang, Director Health at USAID Pakistan, and Ms. Ellyn Ogden, Global Polio Coordinator.
The discussions centered on strengthening routine immunization as a fundamental step in eliminating polio. Emphasizing the importance of increased immunization coverage, the participants highlighted that improving routine immunization would on ensuring every child receives essential vaccinations and Boost herd immunity against vaccine-preventable diseases.
