EPI’s conducted Training Workshop onVaccine, Supply Chain Data Management

A five-day national training workshop on Vaccine and Supply Chain Data Management was inaugurated today at Ramada Hotel, Karachi. The initiative, organized by the Federal Directorate of Immunisation (FDI) with technical support from UNICEF, aims to enhance the capacity of key personnel involved

in vaccine logistics and data systems at the national, provincial, and district levels. The Project Director EPI Sindh Dr Raj Kumar emphasised the significance of vaccine and cold chain management in the overall success of the immunisation programme. He stated, “This is a critical investment in the health system, ensuring every vaccine dose is stored, handled, and delivered effectively. With the induction of newly hired vaccinators in Sindh, we are ensuring they receive both classroombased and field-level training to

equip them for high-quality immunisation service delivery.”

Dr. Sohail Raza Shaikh, Additional Director EPI Sindh, also shared his thoughts during the opening, appreciating the collaboration between federal, provincial, and partner organisations. He encouraged participants to adopt best practices in data recording, cold chain compliance, and community engagement. The session continued with technical presentations led by Dr Zaid Bir Arif, who presented on Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPDs) and key cold chain concepts. Suneel Raja, Immunisation Officer – Urban, UNICEF Sindh, conducted an engaging session on Social and Behavioural Change (SBC)

theories and interpersonal communication strategies to strengthen community trust in vaccines and improve service uptake.
